One class, we were graced with the presence of Sabrina Seymore & Lesleigh Mausi. Two black women, not strangers to NCCU, are taking over the media industry with every boss move that they make.
Sabrina Seymore is an NCCU Alumna who began her professional life in the realm of wedding and event planning eventually opening her own business called Sabrina Seymore Events, which is nationally and internationally certified in Wedding & Event Planning. After enhancing her brand and building her clientele, Seymore decided to branch out of the event planning world and branched into publications with her magazine called The Prevailing Woman. Her publication, being out for two years, is to highlight women that are trailblazers in their work and continues to be a positive force in the world today.
I have built a connection with Seymore in attempts to connect on a more personal basis, but as a busy woman, it is very hard, yet I am determined.
Below are screenshots of her social media accounts for her personal use, magazine promotion, as well as her event planning business.

Lesleigh Mausi is a strong acquaintance to NCCU and a driving force behind the production of The Art of Cool Festival in Durham. As a family oriented business, she gave an insight on how to separate family and business. This mindset assisted them in acquiring a venue in Chicago and naming it after Aretha Franklin as well as having such a large turn out at Art of Cool. Mausi is about her business and isn't afraid of a little challenge.

Overall, these two women offered a fresh insight on the do's and don'ts of being a success in the media industry as well as offered us a new outlook on where we could go with our degrees.
