Well it's officially August, and I have a couple goals and things to look forward to in this month. So what better way to plan out my goals than to make a blog post about them.
1. Blog more frequently. I really want to develop the habit of blogging to improve my writing and to have a portfolio for graduate schools and employers to look at when they approach my LinkedIn or application.
2. Do better planning. I used to use a bullet journal frequently and all of a sudden, I just stopped, and my anxiety and procrastination flooded my mind. I recently just switched to a generic type of planner and downloaded the google calendar app on my phone and web browser. I'm also trying to get the hang of this app "Notion" to help me with planing out things like papers and so on.
3. Go to the gym, or workout, (at least) three times a week. I've been very stressed and busy these past two years of being in college, and my body has been doing a fantastic job at showing it. I want to just get myself on a consistent schedule throughout the week to where I could start my day of with a workout, or whenever I determine would be the best fit.
4. Start a plant-based diet. Now that I am going into my junior year, the cafe really doesn't excite me anymore; therefore, I should be more able to eat off the vegan station (it was a very mental thing.) I really want to be at a healthy weight come October because it's a jam-packed month with conferences, events, and turning 21. Two-months should be a great amount of time to loose weight and begin to keep it off. The diet probably won't be permanent because I love having a free choice in what I eat, but the hope is that I become more conscious of what I put in my body.
5. Build a great head-start for all of my classes. It's no secret that I'm going to have a very hectic and busy school year, so to combat this, I want to be able to get ahead in my school work so that the most important reason for me being in college, doesn't have to suffer
6. Lastly, cut back on my spending habits. I recently downloaded this app called "Clarity Money" that does a good job of keeping me in check with all of my spending habits. It'll send me notifications on if my spending is exceptionally high in certain categories by letting me know how much I've spent this week on food and so on. I'm trying to save up for some big trips, and I don't want my mouth to get in the way of my bank account.
Overall, August is going to be a dope month, and I'm aware that some of these goals can't be completed until I start back school, but I believe that they can be accomplished.
